HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT DRAMAKINETICS...

Dear Pam and Dramakinetics,
Thank you for coming to my classroom to present Dramakinetics to Room 1. The session was enjoyed by my typical as well as my special needs children. Role play and pretending are such a fantastic way to reach all children; especially when all the senses are involved! As we went on the “bear hunt” I could see the children imagining all the places to where their imagination was leading them. Their movements as they “squished” through mud and “swam” in water showed a real understanding of what they were doing. Thanks for presenting this wonderful program. It was great fun and a special teaching tool for all who were involved.

Sincerely,
Barbara Brown

I was very happy with the class and impressed with the staff that worked with the children. The individual and group attention they gave Nick helped to bring him out of his shell. He still wasn't shouting answers out or jumping to be the first one to volunteer. But on the other hand, he was participating without being continuously prompted. His verbal skills have come a long way. His speech and gross motor skills seem to improve whenever he can forget about what he is doing and just do it. The music and movement helped him to achieve this. I also feel the group dynamics works on improving social skills. By singing, dancing, acting, etc., these children interact with each other in a different setting that allows them to feel comfortable. This in turn, transfers over to every day situations.

My son loves Dramakinetics. After 8 years of private individual therapies for speech, OT and PT, we needed a break. We had hit a plateau and I was worried that my son was getting "burnt out". This class was the perfect hiatus-- fun, friends, and an opportunity to be in "therapy"without knowing it! When other kids were discovering how their bodies can leap and logroll and wiggle at 3 and 4 years of age my son could barely walk. He had no body awareness so he could not keep up with preschoolers around him. Now he wants to explore the activities that he missed but all his first grade classroom activities are well beyond this. Dramakinetics gave him the opportunity to turn upside down, fly around the room, and make a funny face with other kids equally challenged and also his age. How refreshing. He wants to come back!
