Another Great Year at Norwood Schools

Thank you Avenues for Success for having us participate in your 2014-2015 school year!

Dramakinetics had the wonderful privileged to join the the students at four Norwood schools for after school activities.

In our middle school program our teachers worked with 7th and 8th graders on our “Rescuing Romeo and Juliet” program.  This class enabled the teachers to focus on teaching acting skills, character development techniques, and aiding the students in creating and performing their own show. A portion of the class focused on studying Romeo and Juliet, and then through group discussion the class decided to “save” Romeo and Juliet by creating the story of how the feud between the Montagues and Capulets began.  Together they wrote and performed this story (follow the link to watch the performance) for the final banquet at Norwood Middle School on May 1st.

In addition to the program for older students, we had a program with three of the Norwood Elementary Schools: Sharpsburg Elementary, Norwood View elementary, and Williams Elementary.  The students in this program focused on learning many of the introductory theatre techniques, developing skills in ensemble work, rehearsing scenes, and enjoying the exciting art of acting.  To see a little bit about what these students did
